T6 Sixth Form – Student Agreement

This Student Agreement is drawn up to give you the best opportunity for success and ensure our expectations are clear and adhered to. 

What can you expect from us?

  • T6 Sixth Form is a Catholic Sixth Form. As such, our ethos is centred around gospel values and the teaching of the Roman Catholic Church.
  • To provide guidance on choosing the correct study programme and to support you in achieving your career goals and potential. 
  • To provide high quality teaching, learning, homework, assessment and feedback for all subjects throughout the academic year.
  • To provide you with a tutor and a pastoral leader who will meet with you to discuss and support you with your academic and personal progress in the sixth form. 
  • To provide advice, information and guidance on post-18 options – including employment, further education, UCAS and work experience. 
  • To provide enrichment and leadership opportunities.
  • To provide you with a high-quality learning environment, facilities and resources. 
  • To safeguard all students. 

What do we expect from you?

The highest of standards in attendance and punctuality:

  • Students must arrive at T6 Sixth Form at 8:30am every day and remain on the site until 2:35pm (break and lunch excluded).
  • Students must attend tutor and all timetabled lessons punctually, including General RE and PSHE (two lessons per fortnight).
  • Students must inform T6 Sixth Form of any planned absence by completing a Leave of Absence Form. 
  • Students must not take holidays during term time. 

The highest of standards in attitude and behaviour:

  • Students must engage with Catholic life at Trinity Catholic College; attending mass and liturgies when they are scheduled.
  • Students must meet deadlines; ensuring that all classwork, homework and coursework is completed to the best of my ability. 
  • Students must make effective use of study time. 
  • Students must act as a role model; behaving respectfully towards staff and fellow students.
  • Students must limit part time work to 10 hours per week.
  • Students must dress in a way that they feel comfortable, but that also conforms with T6 Sixth Form expectations (refer to the T6 dress code).

The highest standards in safeguarding and well-being:

  • Students must wear their lanyard at all times around the site.
  • Students must follow signing in and signing out procedures in line with Health and Safety regulations. 

Students who do not adhere to our expectations can expect the following:

  • Ineligibility for bursary payment
    • Where attendance falls below 90% figure and no extenuating circumstances exist, bursary payment cannot be approved. 
    • Where a student’s effort grade is below E3 (“good” effort), bursary payment cannot be approved. 

  • Implementation of the Behavioural Policy (Step System), 
    • Involving meetings with teachers, tutors and the sixth form team to set targets to support sustained improvement.
    • Where students do not engage meaningfully with the targets set, this leads to further escalation. 
    • Step 1: Teacher Level (two week review period)
    • Step 2: Tutor Level (two week review period)
    • Step 3: T6 Leadership Level (three week review period)
    • Step 4: Headteacher Level (four week review period)
    • Students who fail to meet targets at Step 4 will be asked to leave T6 Sixth Form.

  • Student payment for examination entry
    • Students who have attendance below 90% and effort grades below E3 (“good effort”) may be asked to pay to sit their examination.
